Lowes Donate Plants Valued at Over $100 for Butterfly Garden

Thanks to the generosity of Lowes of Dulles Crossing Plaza in Sterling, there will be plenty to do at the working bee scheduled for October 25! Lowes' donation of over $100 value in plants, ensures the entrance to the school will look particularly beautiful this year.

Mr. Richard Burns, Manager of Lowes, noted that "the butterflies will be very happy" with the plant selections made by our own Faye Codding.

If you would like to help get these plants in the ground, then come for as little or as long as you can on:

October 25th, 9:00-12:00
(Rain date-- Oct. 26, 3:00-5:30)

Bring your gloves and tools. We will be weeding, and dividing plants. This will include dividing the sedum downstairs and planting it upstairs. If time permits we will also be dividing some of the liriope and moving them to other beds.

For more details contact Faye Codding 630.306.1190 (cell), 703.860.2093 (home).

Mrs Goldman in Sound of Music
October 31 - November 16

Mrs Goldman will be performing the role of Baroness Elsa Schräderin in The Sound of Music, presented by Rockville Musical Theatre, from Oct 31-Nov 16 at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre, 603 Edmonston Drive, Rockville, MD 20851.

Mrs Goldman must be a great actor, she is playing the part of a woman who doesn't like kids-- very different to the music teacher our kids know and love!
The Sound of Music, by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, is based on the memoir of Maria von Trapp, The Story of the Trapp Family Singers. Songs from the musical that have become standards include "The Sound of Music", "Edelweiss", "My Favorite Things", "Climb Ev'ry Mountain", and "Do-Re-Mi".

For the Sunday matinees there will be a free shuttle from Rockville Metro.
