Dear Friend of Terraset,
 
Just two weeks to go and the kids will be back at school! Do you have a faint feeling of excitement? Even if only because your routine will return to normal (and you may have a few hours to yourself!)

Don't forget to let any new families that plan to join the school to subscribe to our newsletter and announcements. We want to be sure that everyone is kept in the loop.
 
That loop includes knowing when the school needs our help. This week is one of those times...

Volunteers Needed Now 
The School Needs Our Help
 
As the school prepares for the kids to return, there are two major tasks (among many) that need our help. Can you volunteer?
 
back to school backpacksBackpacks Assembly
This is urgent... this week or no later than Monday or Tuesday of next week. 2-3 volunteers are needed to assist Mrs. Golac (parent liaison) to assemble back-packs with free school supplies for students in need. This is a priority and volunteers need to come in sometime this week, or Monday/Tuesday of next week at the latest, as the backpacks are needed for open house on Sept. 3rd.
 
Tuesday Packet Assembly
2-3  volunteers are needed to assist with assembling the Tuesday packets. The school is waiting for the Tuesday envelopes from the printers, so this project will likely take place later next week!

Butterfly Garden MaintenanceThanks to those who have been helping with watering the butterfly garden over summer!
 
With school starting in just two weeks, its time to clean up the weeds and put down some fresh mulch. Can you help?
 
Join us from 6-8pm, Thursday 24th August. You should bring bug spray, weeding tools and a rake if you have it. If you cannot come this week, then organize some friends to join you some time the following week. There is plenty of work to do for everyone!

New Bell Schedule 
Starting September 2009
 
Terraset's new schedule is:
Monday 9:15am - 1:25pm
Tuesday - Friday 9:15am  - 3:55pm
 
School Bus RouteThe school will be mailing the new bus schedule to families tomorrow, so look for your new bus pickup time in the next couple of days.
PTA Chairs Needeed 
We Need You! 

PTA AssemblyCan you think of anyone you know who might be good at:

  • School Assemblies Coordinator -- this person will work with the PTA Board and the school to arrange a schedule of assemblies-- great fun for the kids.
  • Spirit Wear Coordinator -- this person will locate and negotiate with a spirit wear provider, promote spirit wear availability to the school, coordinate the collection of payments, and arrange for the distribution of goods.
  • Grants Committee Chair -- this person will direct the grants committee to research potential sources of funds, act as liaison with Mrs Cury to select suitable grant opportunities, and support faculty and staff in subsequent grant application submissions.
