Dear Friend of Terraset,
There is no doubt that
everyone is keen to get back to school... including the students!
However, navigating the snow at Terraset is going to be challenging.
Thanks to Terraset custodial
staff, Fairfax County workers, and a number of volunteers, the
carpark is clear, but Kiss and Ride drivers will have to deal with very
narrow conditions on Ridge Heights Rd. In addition, at the time of
writing, the sidewalk along Ridge Heights from Soapstone is not clear,
so there may be some walkers forced to use the street. PLEASE take
care.
The Ridge Heights sidewalk
from Langston Hughes is clear. But walkers may still want to consider
using the Reston paths to ensure safe passage away from what is likely
to be very congested traffic on Ridge Heights.
We do not know if all the bus
stops have been cleared, but we do know that many Terraset volunteers
battled great slabs of ice and snow to clear some of them. Above
Heather Thomas and Annette Bobby fight over six feet of snow and ice
near Cedar Cove Crt. on South Lakes Drive. What a fantastic effort!
They are two of many from Terraset who assissted in the big dig
throughout south Reston.
