Read-A-Thon

The Fall fundraiser serves to finance the major programs and activities offered by the Terraset PTA while helping to build our school community!

In 2010 we introduced a READ-A-THON! Not only did this present an opportunity to raise some funds through sponsorship, but it also helped to encourage Terraset families to spend time together reading.

Why do we want our families to read? Because if kids see their families read, they are more likely to want to read too. If kids want to read, they get better at it! If kids read well, they read a lot. If they read a lot, they know more. If kids know more, they probably know more words too. If kids have a good vocabulary, they can usually tell stories well, write well, and spell well!

The Read-a-thon was such a great success, we are going to do it again this year. Everyone in the school community is invited to participate during October: staff, students and their families! There will be participation prizes and fundraising prizes that reward individuals and groups.
