2009-2010 Reflections Program Theme: "Beauty is..!"

Congratulations to Terraset's 2009-2010 County Winners!

Intermediate Division: Film Video Production Category - Award of Merit to Phylicia Richardson, 5th grade.

Primary Division: Dance Category - Award Of Excellence to Katie Falcone, 1st grade.

Primary Division: Visual Art Category - Outstanding Interpretation to John Hodge, 2nd grade.

Reflections is an art program designed to complement Arts Education offered at Terraset. We hope that it will:

• offer our children an opportunity to express themselves through words, pictures, music, dance, film, or other art media, allowing them to grow intellectually, and to learn to analyze their thoughts and feelings.
• give students a chance to experiment in the arts.
• provide students opportunities to create works of art for fun and recognition, providing an outlet to creatively explore what they are learning in the classroom.
• help parents recognize, support, and enhance their children's ongoing self-discovery.

The program culminates in a competition with winning entries advancing to district, regional, state and finally a national PTA competition.

All entries need to be original and inspired by the 2009-2010 theme "Beauty Is..." Students may choose from six areas of expression:

• Dance Choreography- Dance entries less than 3 minutes on a CD or DVD.
• Film Production- Film entries less than 5 minutes on a CD or DVD.
• Literature- Not to exceed 2000 words and not larger than 8 1/2" x 11".
• Musical Composition- Musical entries less than 5 minutes on a CD.
• Photography- Maximum size of 11" x 14" including mat.
• Visual Art (drawing, painting, print making, and collage)- Maximum size of 24"x30" with mat, not to exceed 3/8" thickness.

We are encouraging students to consider their entries over the summer months.
